The racist joke

Can someone PLEASE explain it to me. Thanks!

reply

Really? What's to explain?

reply

What the point of the joke is and what it means or why its funny.

reply

No one wants to think their 'privates' are so nasty as to be inseminated by disgusting flies.

reply

that's a really hard joke to get by the way which is why it needed to be explained so thank you although i think the only people who get that joke must be racists, im not one.

I got it and I'm not a racist. It's really not that difficult to understand and I'm confused as to why you needed an explanation.

reply

I don't doubt your confusion. The 'joke', if you want to call it that, is self explanatory. It doesn't take a nuclear physicist to figure it out.

reply

I disagree that the joke is easy to understand. If you don't have that perception or knowledge of that perception of Arab people than you wouldn't understand it. I didn't understand it when I first watched the movie and had to look it up.

reply

I was indeed surprised at the punch line. Usually when Arabs are in the joke the punch line involves a camel. For example:

Why is a camel called the ship of the desert? Because you will almost always find it filled with Arab seamen.

reply

My husband is Arab and I'm very close to all my in-laws and their extended families (it's actually weird say "their" instead of "my", my mother in-law passed away a few years ago and oddly enough, (since I'm the only foreign daughter in-law) my eldest sister in-law and I are considered to be the matriarchs of the family now, she the matriarch of the siblings that are still in the home country and I am for all the siblings that have moved here). They are all non-practicing Muslims and know I am an outspoken Atheist. We have a summer there and my husband and I have been married for nearly 20yrs. I didn't get this joke either, so obviously there are a lot of perceptions of Arabs that are way off.

reply

I didn't get it either.

reply

It not racist. It's idiotic. When I first heard the joke 30 years ago, it was Texas not Arabs. It's an insert race, country, state, or region joke.
