maybe i'm wrong, and everyone knows this

it seems to me, though i may be wrong and haven't read every recent post, that the nature of this film is not commonly understood. what i mean is that it is an anthology of shorts that jarmusch filmed on and off for a time that spanned three decades, beginning in the late eighties with the roberto benini-steven wright skit. this should be considered in regards to the film, whether or not you enjoyed or admired it, or while re-evaluating the film if you did not know this, which i suspect a few did not or did not rightfully consider... it was more or less a side project, though it obviously meant something to jarmusch, which is intended to resonate with others.
i thought it was entertaining, though there were a few times that the film was a bit graceless. but most of the skits ended before they wore out their novelty or theme, though some before they really found anything more than a rhythm.

Bill Murray is the greatest actor in all of history and for all eternity. Vive le Bill Murray.

Reading the posts defending this movie, posted by those who claim to understand it where others don't, I tend to find only non sequitors. So he filmed it over 30 years. An accomplishment, maybe a little obsessive, but so what? Are you trying to say that makes it a good movie? Maybe I'm too dumb to understand you but then could you try to dumb it down if you're trying to explain its goodness to us idiots?
