Totally forgot this show ever existed

Recently been watching some random Friends episodes on Comedy Central and I forgot how funny it is, such a well written show. Anyway, I was looking at the Friends imdb page and noticed the link to the Joey series and I had a weird moment as a huge Friends fan.. I totally forgot this show ever got made, seriously. I remember when it first aired in the UK and I even watched the first few episodes, but remember it was embarrassingly bad, the episodes I watched had virtually no story, no laughs, weak supporting characters and just a slap in the face to Friends. I'm assuming it never got any better?

Joey starts weak, but it gets better from the 2nd half of the first season, as well with the second season.
Granted, is not very good compared to Friends, but it has its funny moments and the story is Joey trying to progress in his life, both personal than professional (at the end of the 2nd he got its own studio, being no more that anonymous actor).
Although, the supporting characters are weakly written when not interacting with Joey (except Zach and Jimmy), which is not good when Friends' comedy style is based around interactions with the characters.

I wish the series could last longer than two seasons, like four or five (ten like the previous show would be very utopic), but I'm content it lasted what it lasted and not slowly rotting like many long-runs shows.
