It had a good trailer and got a lot of hype but just didn't hold up and wasn't funny
shareOk, viral marketing works. Could also be the with timing of the release date and the year it was released too? maybe there was nothing else to watch around that time.

Why did this POS make so much money?
Because it didn't cost anything to make, relatively. The star, John Heder was paid very little, if I remember correctly $1,000 for the whole project. It couldn't have cost much. If every extra in the movie paid to see it, I'm willing to bet it would have still turned a profit.
And quality or not, it was picked up by MTV Films, which has a built-in audience. There's no way this could not have been a money-maker. share
This is a timeless classic for those that love dry sarcastic humour without constant laughtracks and such. I love ND and wish the film had went on a little more than end with the dance note.

In the DVD I have, the producers used some of the butt-load of money that the film made in theaters, and tacked on a new ending where...spoiler ahead...
There is a big wedding scene for Kip and Lafawnda. The whole cast is in it, including Napolean riding up on a horse, as a gift for them I guess. share
