I noticed that just about every crew member listed in the credits had russian names. was this film from over seas?

Eastern Europe, Yes Bulgaria, I am from Bulgaria, and when i was watching this movie, i was thinking how much the enviorment reminds me of Bulgarian Summer Nights (ahhh nice moments, i miss the summer very much). And when it came up to the final titles, and i see a lot of people with Bulgarian names (not russians, it has a slight differnce, the bulgarian language and names are more hard and i don't like really the russian language, nothing personal to russians, of course ;) ), and i like the movie, i was surprised, because i have watched another cheap hollywood productions shot in my country, and they were total crap, but i like this movie, for one little exception, the 3d animators are not so good, as you can see the crapy blood drop, that falls on Ray Liota's clothes (its seems from miles that its a 3d animation! Really bad animation!)...
I thought Bulgarian, too. Thanks for the confirmation. It was kind of weird when the closing credits ran and suddenly almost all the names seemed to be of the same type (ending in -ov, -eva). I seriously thought it was some kind of weird joke. But it makes sense to hire local people.
Can anyone tell me which scenes were filmed in Bulgaria?
Sofia's train station is in the movie. And most, if not all, of the street scenes are filmed in Sofia as well. I'm 100% sure for these two. I think Caputo's place is in Sofia, too. The part in the park must be another one. Maybe the carnival scene, the lab, and the car wash don't look like places in Bulgaria. That's my opinion, I don't live in Sofia, but in another Bulgarian city, but as far as I know the capital, I was able to recognize whether the atmosphere was from Sofia or not.
