I thought the movie was a joke, and extremely lame. The acting and the plot were horrible and im suprised it got such high reviews.

This movie could have been so much better... but cheap thriller part of the script really ruined it.
Maybe it was a good thing I couldn't hear anything then. I was on a plane, and the guy next to me was watching it on his computer thing. It seemed interesting, though I couldn't hear a word of it, so I watched it. Hey, I actually could care less if it was bad or good, Ray Liotta had his shirt off and he had tats. Nuff said for me.

It starts as a bad movie you are willing to like. You wonder how Willem Dafoe and Ray Liotta ended up in such a lame production. Worse: you wonder how Stephen Rea and Polly Walker are in the same movie. But it’s a legitimate b-movie and you get along easily.
However, this predictable and cliché-ridden movie becomes utterly boring when Liotta turns the nice guy. Everything falls apart. I couldn’t care less about what was going on and Michelle Rodriguez, well, I can only think about Resident Evil and her macho manner.
No words to the describe the lack of taste in the final montage.
A joke, Lame, horrible...they all fit this absolute waste of celluloid. Liota and Defoe either: A)owed someone a huge favor B) were stone cold in the bag when they signed on C) It's all a farce to see how many people would actually view such crap.
That was absolutely terrible. At one time I thought DeFoe was headed for DiNero, Paciano consideration. I'm starting to realize that craggy face of his can only take him so far. And I never did have a lick of respect for Liota. I felt I was watching a 2 million budjeted movie that was shot in 7 days. ARGH!!
garyhill...I think you should spend lass time watching movies and more time reading a dictionary. You managed to spell every single name in your entire post WRONG. Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are both legends, learn how to spell their names before you compare other actors to them. And for the record it's Dafoe and Liotta.
I wasn't expecting much but I have to say, I really enjoyed this. For me, it never got boring.

She plays a girl who works at a car wash and likes Ray Liotta's reformed character. She does a great job as a girl who's tryint to turn her life around.

If you haven't watched it yet.. don't watch it. Really. Liotta is my favourite actor.. but this movie is dissapointing overall. Better watch NARC one more time..
I'm surprised so many people didn't like it. I thought it was a nice thriller to just sit down and watch. I think people today are to used to the big action packed thrillers out there, and can't stand watching something that goes a bit more for characterization instead.
I personally found this movie great, and would reccomend it to others. I thought the acting was great and believable, and the plot was a little light but for God's sake people its a movie! Get yourself lost into it! I lvoe mindless movies you can jsut sit and watch. I don't want to think, I'm watching a movie so I can stop thinking.
Stop sucking and Realise how much I kick ass.

Annie Mexiban - if ur a fan of Michelle then getting it to watch it just for her alone wont do you any harm. i only got it for that reason myself and im glad i did. id recommend it to any of her fans, its not a *massive* leap but its something different to her usual characters. you will enjoy her small role in the film if nothing else.
everyone has different tastes, some ppl think this movie is crap and some love it, at the end of the day only you can say whether or not you liked it so you might as well watch it and see for yourself and not rely on the opinions of others. if ur as big a fan of Michelle Rodriguez as you say i think you will like it ok.

I dont understand what people have against the plot.
Its not an idea thats been completely done to death like others, it may not be a fancy plotline and you might see twists (or what little there are) coming a mile off but its at least a solid plotline.
Its definitely not a blockbuster hit. Not hot enough lead actor (sorry Ray), sex or violence for that.
But it is a good film none the less. Perhaps not for the masses, but for those who enjoy a decent film that engages the viewer to think. Anyone with a background/interest in psychology - specifically criminal psychology - will probably appreciate the film. Not because its full of psychological theories, facts etc but rather because it essentially revolves around the age old psychological question.....nature vs nurture.
