Maybe I'll recognize Leckie or SNAFU or Sledge, but other than that I don't have a fucking clue. Random people die and I can't tell if they're supposed to be significant deaths or not, and when the music swells and it's clearly an important character, I still have no idea who it is.
shareThis was a problem compared to Band of Brothers. With BoB you followed the same group of guys from training through deployment overseas through combat. It gave you a better chance to connect who was who whereas The Pacific just jumped right in and didn’t give you context for the main guys
shareSame problem as "Dunkerque". A lot of unknown actors who look similar. If they're going to cast unknowns, at least have enough consideration for the audience to hire actors who don't have the same type faces and same hair color.
