Ok so I just finished watching this.

I thought it was very very good with some excellent acting. But I'm afraid it's nowhere near as good as Band Of Brothers.

Many people feel this way. I personally liked it better than Bob. Nothing against BoB, but I connected to this more. Maybe because my dad was a veteran of the Pacific theater or because I have family and friends who are Marine Corp vets. I love both series but The Pacific more.

Don't get me wrong partsman I found The Pacific very good and in some ways some of it was more shocking than Band Of Brothers. When I first started watching it I wondered wether the soldiers being portrayed were fictional, until I got to the end and realised they were actually real people. It was very thought provoking and powerful, not just for the American soldiers and what they went through but it also made me think about the Japanese people who suffered too. All in all it just shows me how pointless and barbaric war really is.
I totally take your point though and understand what you mean I just found Band Of Brothers to be better.

I will say this though, I thought James Badge Dale was awesome.

Victims...........arent we all.

It really made me think how could people be put through that kind of horror. Then after one campaign they were given a brief rest and then sent off to another. It seems unimaginable to me.

The last year or so I've renewed my interest in WWII history, not just from a military point of view but also from a human standpoint. I look back at my dad, my friends dads and their buddies and it gives me a new perspective on them and the (often hidden) toll it took on them. How anyone could go through that and keep their sanity is amazing.
