Rodney wimps out on Marriage

Rodney finally decides to take the relationship with Katie Brown to the next level. Gets the rings .. John tells him to 'go get the girl' .. mumbles and fumbles around her lab .. get trapped during the "Quarantine" .. acts like an idiot thinking he's actually sick and going to die.

Katie discovers the ring and Rodney is too stuck in self pity to go through and propose -- maybe that's the wrong time, so we'll give me a pass on that one. After everything is calmed down, he talks with her about pointless comments on his short-comings, which she already is well aware of. He's somehow thinks he can't propose until we somehow betters himself.

What a dummy. Marriage is supposed to make you stronger, better, more experienced, more complete. For such a brilliant man, he needs someone to head-slap him about the basics.

And then in the next episode (Harmony), he calls 'dibs' on the yet unseen sister. Seems to have given up on Katie pretty quickly. Again, I say dummy.

Nah. He was smart enough to realize it was a mistake.

I'd say she dodged a bullet...

It was pretty blatant that writers were like, eh.... we're throwing this romance subplot in the garbage. I did like how they handled it with the botched marriage proposal though. That's a real thing that happens. That final goodbye they shared was actually kind of dark.
