Question regarding some of the space battles
Why do Wraith ships fly so close to each other when they're fighting? I mean, they must be aware that the explosion from the enemy ship will also destroy them if they're flying too close.

shareThe writers were probably fans of broadside battles, a strategy used by sailing ships in the 1700s because their cannons were more accurate and effective at close range (which come to think of it is maybe what they're going for)
shareWhy is because it saves them lots of money on FX by putting both Wraith ships into a single shot/frame.
Heck, they even recycle the same Wraith ship shots from one episode to another and represent the old recycled shots as "new" (sometimes with minor digital modifications on the old shots, which does not stop them from being old shots). One of the makers of the show said they recycled old shots like that because "otherwise we wouldn't be able to show you the battle at all [due to FX costs]."
