Why are there so many haters?

Seriously, stop hating on this movie. All of your posts are complaining about the same thing; lack of shark action.. This is a realistic movie, not another carbon copy of JAWS. I'm sorry that you didn't get your underwater action flick and there wasn't scenes of people getting ripped in half every 10 minutes but you should have understood that you were walking into a movie that required viewers to be smart and patient. You had to understand the fearful and terrible situation these 2 divers were in, and the odds they had to fight against throughout the movie to get the full impact of the ending that made this movie the success it was.

Good bye

This movie is a masterpiece. Those who don't find it terryfying have a disconnect somewhere in putting themselves in the situation the main characters are in. Out in the middle of the ocean, not knowing what is around and under you, slowly coming to realize that your life may be about to end. Anyone in that situation would be afraid, and this film captures PERFECTLY what it would be like to be in that situation. Whining about how nothing happens just emphasizes how you were not able to connect with the movie. For those of us who did connect, this film touches a nerve and hits you a gut level like so few films are able to do. It is an amazing achievement and one of the best American Horror films in recent memory.

The actors are so poor for that alone i don't see how someone can consider this movie a good movie.

Well many people, including several major movie critcs, consider it not only good but GREAT.

You do all realise this was filmed on a budget of, i beleive 130,000. now thats just about jack *beep* really. It was an independant film, with no major backers until it was shown at Sundance. When you have *beep* to work with, you generally end up with *beep* So IF thats what you think this movie is, dont be so damned surprised

Well said Matt.........its nice to see their are still people who dont just watch movies, but actually SEE them. I really liked this show aswell.....its one of those "what would i do" movies and that kind of emotion in film is an all time classic way of enticing an audience. Did you like part two....i thought it was even better....just the fact that they added a few more people to the mix aswell as not showing any sharks at all. Good ending......blah blah blah

Take Care brother

Why so many haters? It's becauase the movie is actually good!

I know that doesn't make sense, but it's the imdb mentality. So when you go to a board, and someone says worst (insert actor or movie) ever, you'll know it's/they're good.

Why so many haters? Because most of the people on this site are teenagers (of various ages) who expected "Jaws." As for me, I expected a decent thriller, but instead I got a terrifying, beautifully filmed look at nature at its most fierce. Excellent film.

This was advertised as being a shark movie. I think most of us expected sharks to pop up throughout the movie, not for a minute.
