A disappointing element of the series?

I think it was in the fifth book where the characters started thinking about careers and the only ones Harry and Ron considered, and were almost implied to be the only options, were Quidditch player or law enforcement-aurorer and it felt like Rowling was just considering the few obvious choices she had discussed before.

There's also researcher-writer and reporter but the options still seem pretty few.

I still think about this often-times, and it's surprising how many occupations for wizards you can think of! My only question is how do witches and wizards pursue further education in a field that they want to study? I know that OWLs determine what sort of careers they'd be eligible for and what courses to take their sixth and seventh years in order to go on that path...but besides that, what? Interning?

But if you think about all the small things and hints weve seen in the series, there's actually a number of occupations you can come up with for wizards! Sing/play instruments in a magical band? Any shop in and not in Diagon Alley? The Ministry itself has so many departments that cover a wide variety of interests. I'd also like to think witches and wizards would be interested in pursuing art, whether it be painting/singing/performing.

Then there's tons of other media platforms besides the Daily Prophet and the Quibbler. Without internet I'd imagine that papers/magazines/books/radio shows would be a popular way for what we'd call "bloggers" to give advice and talk and such.

For some reason, the thought of Harry and Ron as aurors never really sat right with me. I would have preferred to imagine Harry seeing to it to bring Voldemort's most loyal followers to justice and then pursuing Quidditch or studying wand-making.
