The movie that made Batman boring

My biggest issue with this movie is, it takes away all the intrigue and mystique of the character. Sometimes less is more. This movie completely exposes the inner workings of the character, from combat training to how he makes his gadgets. It's all very technical and sterile and the character loses its aura as a result.

It's like watching a hot chick getting ready for a night out. She's not as intriguing or glamorous anymore if you just watched her shave her legs and douche her vagina.

Man you really hate the Nolan movies huh.

THE BOURNE/BOND BATMAN...I RARELY REWATCH ANY OF THEM FOR JUST THAT REASON...BORING...ALTHOUGH THEY WERE EXCELLENT FILMS,ONCE YOUVE SEEN THEM YOUVE SEEN THEM.

reply

...is called Batman & Robin, came out in 1997 and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger spouting ice puns.

reply

LMAO...CALL THAT PIECE OF FILM ANYTHING YOU LIKE...EXCEPT BORING.

reply

Boring isn't the right word for Batman & Robin. It's laughably bad, sure, but not boring. It's actually a great unintentional comedy. 'Let's kick some ice!'

reply

Got that right.

reply

They did a great job in this movie. it. Oh, and about the chick shaving her legs and all is tantalizing. I would love to see that.

reply

You'd like to see a woman douche her vagina and pluck her moustache?

reply

Why not?

reply

Where do you draw the line then? Would you also like to watch her do a number 2?

reply

No. That's not interesting.

reply

Well that's the point I was making. There's a threshold where if you see too much it destroys the intrigue you have in a woman. This is what this movie does to Batman.

reply

As an engineer I liked to see that those Batman gadgets did not come out of nowhere.

This movie was exactly what Batman needed, and launched an all-time great trilogy. It was arguably the best of the three, and one of the best superhero movies ever made.

reply

I agree, Batman and Robin went way too far with the comical absurdity and they needed to bring the franchise back down to reality.

reply

Exactly this. Batman Begins had a job to do and it did it.

"if you just watched her shave her legs and douche her vagina"

I'd be interested in watching an origin story of a 'hot chick' film. I actually believe there was a film titled 'The Hot Chick' which did show those scenes. I enjoyed the film, very funny, and respectful.

reply

That movie was PG-13 and it focused way more on Rob Schneider than the titular Hot Chick cause it was about a crooked guy and a young highschool girl switching minds and bodies.

As for the topic I couldn't disagree more. Batman Begins and Dark Knight were good. Dark Knight Rises was bad though imo. I still will always like Tim Burton's Batman movies a lot though.

reply

I loved Nolan's movies at the time, thought they were incredible. I still like them. But now the dust has settled and I look back, I prefer Burton's.

reply

Thank you for that great summation.

This film is dull, boring and pretentious. What Nolan specializes in.

reply

I agree, but this crapfest manages to make EVERYTHING boring, not just Batman.
Every character (starting with the bad guy) every location, every action scene, even the batmobile is fucking boring in this.
