Graphite cowl
One that Alfred smashed with a baseball bat looked solid and was only the top half, is the rest of the finished cowl graphite if so how can it bend?

shareIs the whole cowl meant to be solid in the content of the film?
shareIs it a solid on top surround by latex?

Yes, I think it's just supposed to be solid on top like a helmet, which is why Alfred was testing them under realistic conditions😁
Makes sense. Getting clobbered on the head is right up there with getting shot or stabbed. One good one is all it takes.
Batman still got hurt, leaving blood and tissue all over Gotham! It's a wonder no one scooped up any for analysis! Heaven knows that happened in the animated series to help create a new Batman through Terry in "Beyond Batman!"

Don't know if the neck area is meant to be graphite to protect his neck, might have sprayed it with latex like with the nomex survival suit, with it being foam latex behind the scenes they were having to pretend the material is something else.
shareIf there are any imperfections in carbon fibre structures, they are susceptible to breakage. This is why hockey player's sticks break so often. In fighter jet wings, they X-ray them before allowing them to be used in flights, as the yield is not 100%. They have to re-make them often. In hockey they let the crappy sticks play, hence the problems... even though they charge $300+ per stick for these imperfect POS.
