Terrence Howard was so much better than Don Cheadle as Rhodey

Re-watched Iron Man 1 & 2 and its clear that Terrence Howard was the better fit for Rhodey. Don seemed so monotone as if he were just going through the motions and he seemed way too serious to actually feel like a friend of Tony Stark, whereas Howard had a charm and humor to him that fit much better with Downey. Their chemistry was just better.

Agree.

Although Don was better at math than Howard.

Yeah, true. One of the reasons that Iron Man 2 was a let down was replacing Howard with Cheadle, along with shoehorning in the Avengers character played by Samuel L Jackson (which just stopped the movie dead in its tracks).

Howard was younger and better looking than Cheadle, and you're right, had better chemistry with RDJ. I've heard Howard's an arse in real life, but he was definitely a better fit for the series.

I have to agree with you. Trouble was they gave RDJ a HUGE raise for the follow up movies. Howard was offered a pittance of a raise. When he demanded more they let him go.
