Asterix Comics

Hi Asterix fans,

I really want to start reading Asterix comics, the art is just so fantastic it blows me away. But there's so many of them I don't know where to start. Can anyone give me some recommendations of titles you think are the best or the ones I should start with, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe it is a bit late to answering you, but whatever. :)

There are some difference in the stories in quality, but all of them are very entertaining. There is two way i recommend you to read them:

1) Try to read them in order. You'll find the correct list of the series in english, in wikipedia's Asterix page. The books are in a very good price if you ask me. Mostly in softcover format. I'm actually in reading the series. I always order the fortcoming issues from bookdepository, or from a US comics retailer.

2) Or you may choose some stronger stories, to decide, that is it worth to read all the books. I suggest Gladiator, Britain and Goths for a start. These are my favourites from those i already read nowdays.

Happy reading. :)

The books are actually numbered on the softcovers. So I'd just start with number 1 Asterix the Gaul and go in order.

I would suggest, that you try to read them in order.

Intelligence and purity.

This is hard, but I would choose out the Asterix titles:

Asterix and the Soothsayer,
Asterix and Caesar's Gift,
Asterix and the Great Divide, and..
Asterix and the Magic Carpet,
