Ok I saw in the trivia that they had to have a translator because Paz Vega didn't speak English and the director didn't speak spanish..that doesn't make sense to me because she speaks English just fine in the film and she's been doing movies for a while. I know making a film takes a while but I couldn't imagine her going from 0-60 in terms of language learning in that amount of time.

A lot of actors learn foreign scripts phonetically without actually understanding the language. Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas learned English that way on their first American movies.
