Hated Deborah, loved Adam Sandler's character

I am 50/50 on Adam Sandler. Movies like Zohan and That's My Boy, I think, are stupid and have a very immature sense of humor, but THEN, Adam Sandler does movies like Spanglish and Chuck and Larry and shows his true talent and acting chops. I wish he'd do more movies of this quality...Anyway, were we suppose to like Deborah (Tea Leoni)? Were we suppose to feel some sympathy for her? Because I didn't in the least. She was dry, rude, condescending, egotistical, all over the place...how did Adam's character even fall in love with her in the first place?? ...All that being said, this was a beautiful movie though!

If you can find someone to love the you you love, well that's just fabulous.
