The Deborah character was grating to watch

I appreciate characters with flaws, but if you're gonna be a mess, be an entertaining mess. She was all over the place. Tea Leoni tried, but it was so hard to like this character at all and hard to believe she and John got together in the first place.

What do you think being neurotic is? A mess. All over the place. I'd venture to say perhaps even Bipolar or some other chemical embalance in her brain. I thought she nailed her part right on the head.

I *was* entertained by the character. I didn't like her, but I understand why she was written the way she was. Good stories almost always have a strong antagonist, and that is what Deborah was.

She wasn't playing an character with flaws. She was a villain and a bully. You're not supposed to like her. You're supposed to stand up and cheer when
she says in the bedroom scene with John, "Is this YOUR WAY ? . . . "

You're supposed to stand up and cheer and yell, "Heck yes, this is his
way. Now sit down, shut up and take it or I'll come up there, throw you
down, put my knee in the crook of your neck, and hike your arm up until
your shoulder dislocates.

And she was basically the first "white woman" that Flor really knew. I'm sure she didn't think all white non-hispanic women were this bonkers. But surely Deb's act would cause some concern for Flor.

What an awful and annoying character.

I thought Tea did a good job. You got the sense that Debra was self-centered but also insecure and neurotic. She was annoying to watch and in "real life", hard to be around. But that was the character J. L. Brooke's wanted

By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.
