Think Tea was wonderful!

unlike another post, I feel her role should have been best supporting nominated. her neurotic wife was wonderful, and the interplay between her and all the other characters, especially her mother, was integral to the whole story.

This movie gets better everytime I see it.

You do realize Tea Leone can't act right?

She was spot on in this film, so I don't know how you come to that conclusion.

I tend to agree. Her character was significantly annoying. I figured that's exactly what she was going for (and what the writer & director wanted).

I can only imagine the discussion between James L Brooks and his casting director:

Brooks: We need to get an actress who is real annoying, who talks without moving her mouth and with a whiny monotone, and can play real wooden, but you know, effortlessly. You know, a Tea Leoni-type.

Casting Director: Hey, why not just get Tea Leoni? You're trying to make a statement film anyway, so who cares if it costs $80M to make and won't make half of that back with Leoni in the lead?

Brooks: Good point....call Leoni.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

she was great

Haven't seen much of her work.

I thought she was very convincing as a hyper fruit cake in this movie.

She definitely had me cringing to her neurosis and all out nutty wife role. I have seen her in an interview, and she was rather soft spoken & elegant. Not at all like "Deb"...guess she pulled it off.

I totally agree Leoni was marvelous and shouldn't have been passed over - not an easy role but she played it brilliantly.
