reply

Information for you, Witty Kibitzer, about the movies you were looking for!

For PAL, Region 2, HERE (look at the "Perfect partner"-offer for both of them together!):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nobody-Knows-Yuya-Yagira/dp/B000936H32/ref=sr_ 1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1208380391&sr=8-1

And NTSC, Region 1, you can buy HERE:

I don't know where you live, but Amazon's an international company, very reliable, and has its own branch sites in Canada, US, UK, France, Germany, Japan and China. Once you sign in and create a password and an account, you can visit all the sites using the same identification - Japan being an exception.

Hope this helped!

u my friend are immediately my fav imdb user just for mentioning grave of the fireflies & nobody knows. Almost every other list on any of the imdb posts consists of often seen, well known, often in the top250 films. I am tired of seeing the same names being repeated again and again and again. U my friend r a breath of fresh air.

And my honorable mention would have to go to The Ring, even though I know I'm going to catch all sorts of hell for it. When I saw it the first time, I couldn't sleep for like a month afterwards, and I think that makes it count for this.

I watched The Ring a dozen times. It's a very slick and atmospheric film. I'm talking about the remake, which was great. I don't like japanese horror, somehow it's not scary at all.

Me too, patricialeat! The whole time I watched "Hard Candy," I thought, please please just let this be over soon. The acting was incredible but I felt physically ill afterwards. And it sort of makes you claustrophobic since the majority of the movie takes place in one location.

Thanks to everyone that posted, you just gave me a very long list of must watch movies!

All of my tops have been listed except one: The Butterfly Effect

I know it doesn't compare to Mysterious Skin, Little Children, or Req for a Dream but after watching it I was haunted for days. All of these movies disturbed me. They all gave me such a profound feeling of how bad the world can be. Sadly, those seem to be the types of movies that stay in my head.

reply

WTF are people mentioning Juno?

The main film that really stuck in my head very strongly for a few weeks was Mulholland Dr. I'd say about every hour I would think of MD, and I was terrified of that movie. I couldn't even wash my hair in the shower because that movie haunted my mind whenever I closed my eyes. I don't know why it's so freaky to me- that movie is just brilliant, tragic, complex, and haunting. Plus I watched it alone.

It still freaks me out a little.
