The rape scene was a bit disgusting
*beep* nasty.
shareIt was supposed to be.

rape IS disgusting. I applaud this movie for making it look "nasty". This is one of the only movies I have seen that actually depicts rape for how it is; too many Hollywood movies "glorify" rape.
shareI wouldn't say they "glorify" rape by any means.
It's just that very few films portray it as this does. Bluntly.

It was supposed to make you feel disgust - that's quite a realistic portrayal of rape. It's not meant to look enjoyable or pleasant.

Right, because the rape scene should have been fun and pleasant to watch.

a bit? Man, that just doesn't do the situation justice. Not that I believe people should be using the word in any context but as a result of this movie and that scene, I now find just the use of the word slut stomach turning. Like I actually want to throw up when I hear it or think of this scene.
I agree about the poster who talked about Hollywood depictions often glorifying rape; I'm glad there are examples like this, few though they are, as the antithesis of that but it was harrowing viewing. Absolutely horrifying.
