Why wasn't levitt nominated for a Oscar

Brilliant acting

They overlook this fantastic performance, but the Academy just can't ignore a film like Beasts of the Southern Wild (for example) . Definitly deserved a nom.

I just said the same thing under another thread, why wasn't he nominated? It's amazing how the Oscars tend to overlook brilliant acting by underrated actors.

I've seen this movie several times now, the first time I watched it I was captivated by the whole film but more focussed on bryans story, but after watching it a few times levitts performance its just nothing short of amazing, the expressions and the subtlety of his performance is incredible, he conveys so much of neils pain thru empty looks and expression, truely talened and deserving of every award but yea nowhere near mainstream enough

As good as JGL was, I was more impressed with Brady Corbet's performance and I was more emotionally invested in his character, to be honest. Both were fantastic though in this outstanding film.

I'm glad to see there is someone who is also more impressed with Brady's performance. Both deserves Oscars, in my opinion, but Brady was only like 15 when this film was made, and his performance was one of the best I've seen. Plus, he played Brian exactly EXACTLY how he was written.
