"And the Plot Moistens": why didn't Alan dump Kandi for the teacher?

In that episode, Charlie expresses disappointment that Alan isn't sleeping with the teacher at the same time he's sleeping with Kandi, to which Alan says that he doesn't need to when he's got Kandi and that his relationship with the teacher is based on all the things that they have in common in terms of interests and hobbies.

So why didn't it occur to either Charlie or Alan that he should dump Kandi so he can screw the teacher?

You're "her." Only you can explain what you were saying.

This is a delayed response but I just saw this episode. It should have occurred to Alan that he was better off with the teacher. She was pretty too and much more compatible with Alan in every way than the creature called Kandi.

That is probably the reason they didn't get together. To further the plot, it was necessary for Alan to make the worst choices imaginable.

I couldn't even see what was attractive about Kandi. I know she had the regulation tits but she was so stupid and unfunny I could barely watch with one eye open.

So why didn't it occur to either Charlie or Alan that he should dump Kandi so he can screw the teacher? I don't know.

Through the mercy provided by my DVR, it only recorded this episode and skipped over the rest of the Kandi episodes landing on a spot where she is long gone. Thanks, technology.
