shareI heard him tell a story about himself on a talk show once. I think he had been riding a bike and chapped his private parts. It was exactly the same kind of thing that always happened to Alan. That being said, I think he was brilliant on the show. Some of the stuff between him and Charlie is great.
shareI've worked with Jon Cryer. Musical theatre. Sondheim's "Company" (I'm pretty sure our version is on DVD, Neil Patrick Harris plays Bobby) and he was a seminal proffesional who was kind, bright, giving, and always prepared. He is such a strong actor that he has you believing that the barnicle, sponging, mooch, Alan Harper is real. In truth it's the 14 people on the writing staff and directing staff who define Alan Harper's words and actions. The reason you hate him is that he's such a good actor that he made you believe Alan Harper is real. Did you think Ashton Kutcher was a low IQ doofus after his 7 years on "That 70's Show?" Look at Cryer's other work.
shareI've seen him a couple of times with and without Ashton and he seemed like a (very talented) regular guy. I'd have a beer with him.
The thing I thought about while watching was how he can seem so normal and have TONS of money.
The way they paid these guys is incredible.
