Seriously - how funny was Jake in the earlier seasons :O

I love this show - i don't care how idiotic people think i am for admitting that - i don't think this show is something special, groundbreaking or even clever (cause ya know, Chuck Lorre) but it was such a FUN show to watch

I have seen the first 4 seasons hundreds of times BUT i have not seen them for a very long time (a while before Sheen got fired even)
But now that i have got the complete series, i have decided to do a re-watch and my god they really did change (ruin) Jake

I used to stick up for the character in the later seasons cause i think that he was destined to be this dumb kid that likes drink, drugs and sex (living with Charlie would have that effect on someone IMO)
But despite the fact that he is still a dumb kid in the early seasons (don't deny it people, he never got good grades and tended to get into trouble in school) he was extremely funny, he had some wit there, and his friendship with Charlie was just as good (if not better) than Charlie/Alan's brother dynamic

There are some problems with this show even in it's heyday - Charlie Sheen may be the draw for people here (because everyone clearly hates Ashton Kutcher for some odd reason) - but my god, he is one BAD actor - there is a scene in 'Alan Harper, Frontier Chiropractor' that makes me cringe, it is the musical montage were Alan is modeling some clothes for Charlie cause he wants to look more presentable but during this musical montage, there is no dialogue, so Charlie and Jon have to mime the scenes making it look like the music isn't there, and Charlie laughs at Alan's apparel and it is the worst acting i have ever seen, it is not even remotely convincing

I love the Walden years, i think there are only so many drunken sex-capades of Charlie that you can deal with before it get's boring and by season 8 it was very old - despite people's hatred towards AK, he brought new life into the show IMO, your opinions may vary, but i don't care, i still stick to mine (despite that AWFUL Gorilla episode)

I know this is controversial but do you think this show made Angus T Jones the crazy religious freak he is now? because he was only 10 years old when this show started - it was very risque and included a lot of adult subjects so i just wondered whether he turned to crazy religion (which i hate with a passion and i think Americans take it too far) because of this show and the crap that happened BtS

I sound like a crazy Yank 'TV ruins your mind' tit by saying that don't i? :/ oh god

Jake was just lazy at first, maybe dumb as a realistic kid who is not very smart, but he wasn't retarded as he became in the later seasons.

And even though is true that by Season 8 it was already getting old, the Walden years were bad for many reasons, not just because Charlie wasn't there. The plots and humor were really low quality, I tried to give it a chance but the only reason I'd tune in from time to time was because I somehow hoped they revealed Charlie wasn't really dead. Charlie was still the reason people watched during the Walden years. They kept talking about him and even made a clone of him(his daughter)

Jake was hilarious as a child. The show was over once he aged.
