One of my favorite things about this movie.

The frat boy who plays one of Tommy's friends just mugs and goofs his way through the movie and I guess director Tommy never noticed or cared about this - even though he was trying to make a serious drama?

I got the impression that he was meant to be some sort of comedic relief.

He realized what a colossal cluster flick he was a part of and went ‘full retard’. I’m pretty sure everyone involved in this thing assumed the film would not be seen by anyone.

Even Tommy as Johnny himself is super goofy. His acting definitely doesn't sell that it's a drama and not some sort of bizarre comedy nor does the writing of the movie itself.

A bigger question is whether or not Wiseau actually wrote “me underwears” he doesn’t seem to have a solid enough grasp of American English to understand why this would sound funny. Did frat boy add lib it then? Is that why he looks like he can hardly stifle a huge laugh, or was he mocking the production?

reply

Could have been an ad lib.

Then again, Wisseau's writing is like poetry. You don't want to mess with it.
