Why wasn't Jonas murdered? (spoiler)

Maybe this has been answered in the film, but why didn't the two murderers find and kill Jonas the graveyard keeper who ran away when they filmed that woman? They should have wanted him dead since he knew their identities.

Hr explain to Neeson on the rooftop that "they knew I wouldn't talk".

As they had NO REASON at all to KNOW he wouldn't talk.

Jonas leaped off the roof to his death before they had to hunt him down and kill him for talking. They didn't have to kill him. He killed himself. Were you playing with your phone, your tablet or your laptop? You tend to miss these important plot points when you do that.

Bored now.

I'm pretty sure the OP was asking why he was still alive to even be able to talk to Scudder, and why they hadn't already killed him...

I assumed that they assumed even if Jonas talked, no one would believe him because he was north of simple and kinda creepy. Plus if he talked, he didn't know enough to help anyone find them (they thought) its not exactly Shakespeare but its my theory.

... because he was north of simple and kinda creepy.
Well Scudder doesn't think he's simple and acknowledges that to him, especially since he'd managed to fob off the cops. The fact of the matter is that Jonas was very much an accessory to the murder, so I think the other guys felt that that was enough to guarantee his silence.🐭

Because he was implicated in Leila Anderson's kidnapping. Even if he didnt murder her, he didnt call the cops right after running away from the van either. Also Ray and Albert placed some of Leila's bagged up remains in the graveyards pond as a kind of message or taunt, like "tell anyone about this at your own peril". Jonas even speculated that they "probably found it funny" to leave her remains where he found them.

It could be further speculated that they didnt kill him because they got a sick rise out of knowing that someone else knew and that Jonas felt too powerless to ever stand up and turn them in. All the twisted things they do point to sadism and also control.

Logically, you wouldnt think any serial killers would allow a witness to remain alive, but they are lunatics! Even Scudder remarked "They are already mad".
