Another Super sleeper. Liam Neeson walking the ongoing road of Redemption. Candid and real, in the priority of things to focus upon, Liam's character and his young associate, the kid who is equally sensitive and a brilliant and wise street savvy Soul ...
Theirs is at the top of the hierarchy of purpose. Shut down the super creeps who are determined to commodify their serial killer pathology into cash money. In some ways, no different than their victims whose family members are dirty as well.
The whole movie, every character has issues and baggage, even the top cops rolling in a windowless van on a "jump out boys" mission ...
The victims are truly innocent and demand Liam to work the 12 steps in real time. Liam's character gets no breaks except for his True Friend the kid who still really believes in SuperHeroes and looks past all the mud and nit grit everybody is covered in all around him.
The ballers coming to terms in the most personal way there is no easy money and as they each experience the sinking feeling and realize how powerless they really are no matter how Boss they have thought they were, there only hope is with Liam's courage to walk the 12 steps the hardest way ...
This film brings back strong memories of true crime flicks like "Sharky's Machine" & "Slaughter of the innocents". It moves well, it is funky, unexpected runs of dialogue reveal exceptional screenwriting.
An unlikely band of folks placed together to do the right thing and become heroes, though reluctantly at first. Each realizes their moment in the film this is what their purpose was ...
They were good guys after all. And they handle it on their own which was cool to see.
Liam Neeson is no joke. Dude went from playing the trippy cousin snake handler of Truman in that late 80s flick - forgot the name, great movie, RIP Patrick Swayze, Rock On!!! -
To Liam starring as Oskar Schindler in Schindler's List. Wow. Liam doesn't just accidentally end up in a lame movie. He knows what is a timeless movie.
That would be really cool a sequel where Liam and the kid associate keep on getting the really really bad guys. Despite the system.
Great movie!!! Hats off to everyone involved in this one. You all did a wonderful job. Time will reveal
