how the parents died
was there any point to Ginger lying about it? Does the commentary say anything about it? maybe they ran away or killed their parents, but why?

I haven't heard it in a while, but I believe the commentary implies they murdered their parents.

I got the impression the parents, along with anyone else on the boat (other than the girls, of course), were killed by the werewolves. I didn't think that Ginger and Bridget really understood what had happened, just that they were smart enough not to divulge the information to the men at the fort.
