How? Just How?

How does this take place in the 19th century before Ginger and Bridge were even born.

That is still up for debate. Most agree that the Ginger and Bridget from the previous films are reincarnations in a sense of the ones in this movie, or descendants of Bridget. Some think that is what the reference to the curse being passed is implying. Yet others (myself included) wonder if maybe instead of the human line continuing through Bridget the werewolf line keeps going through Ginger, perhaps she started the strain that created the werewolf who attacks and turns the Ginger incarnation in the first movie.

I hope this kind of helps and doesn't just confuse you more.

The only difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to make sense.

Also, the natives talk about thier beliefs in reincarnation, that might be why.

IT'S A MOVIE

also, because it's postmodern and ironic an' sh*t.

Some people/religions/tribes believe that we all travel in the same circle of family/friends in our past, present and future lives.

I believe we have past lives, and that we have these in order to face what we have to face in this live.

the 'it's a movie' excuse only flies for some things and chronological order isn't one of them, this movie isn't bad it just doesn't make sense given the timeline of the first two, leaving stuff open to the viewer isn't always smart it's just lazy, you don't want to commit to an idea so you just live little bread crumbs here and there and never finalize anything. i liked the movie but it just seemed like a remake of the first one, put in a new setting and timeframe. maybe it's about the curse following their bloodline, or just following them through time which would get boring rather quickly. this one kind of just threw me off, I watched these movies over the course of a few days and grew confused after the first one ended bc i remember seeing both girls on both covers, loved the first one, really dug the 2nd one, this one was ok but not as great and its mainly bc of the openness of it all.

I don't really know if the writers put much thought into how the girls were around in 1815 or in what is modern-day Canada. I think they just thought this was a good plot & would make for a decent movie.

I'm not a fan of the "Ginger" movies but I like this one more than any of the others. The main reason is the setting and time period in which they were placed. I think it added to the dark nature of the movie. Being located in the wild with no hope of help arriving (and werewolves lurking in the forests) & being confined to the fort makes for an interesting setting. It's not bad- just not great.

The girls in this movie are obviously different people with the same names. Duh.

It's open for debate.

Some people subscribe to the theory that the Ginger and Bridgette from the original film are the reincarnations of the Ginger and Bridgette from this film.

Some people believe that the Ginger and Bridgette from the original film are somehow descended from or related to the ones from this film. (Or that the werewolf is.)

Some people I've talked to have said they just see this film as a "What If?" or re-imagining of the original film, and don't consider it to be in the same continuity.

Etc.

Really, you can just believe whatever it is that floats your boat in this case, because the film isn't very clear about it. (And tbh, the film isn't clear about a lot of things. They mentioned a few things in the commentary that were supposedly alluded to that I never picked up on. I think the film doesn't work particularly well, especially with any thought or scrutiny put in.)

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?

reply

I think it has to do with the curse that was discussed.

Yup, I just view it as a separate entity or remake of the original.

reply

All 3 Ginger films are connected. The narrative is circular.
