Can't believe the outcome of the Welch's project...

I am stunned that the women won that challenge. The men's presentation seemed to be clearly and obviously better overall. Really strange.

I agree I thought the guys was better. I thought for sure that they won!

Yea, aside from the recipe demo (Which was mildly amusing) the rest of the segment was straight up boring and pointless from the women

The men kept it entertaining for every portion of their entire show. The negative comment against them that it was not a "cohesive theme" all the way through seems to be ignoring the fact that they commented on the health aspect in some way in every piece

Based on the Welches comments about how they wanted to target the "millenial mom" I can only assume that they believe the average millenial mom is a complete moron who is easily confused, so the simple (read: boring) womens segment is what they felt would target their (braindead) demographic the best, because it didn't require any thought engagement with the audience to sit there and be told what to drink.

They must have felt the men with their variety of entertainment would be too difficult to understand for the average idiot they were targeting who simply needs to be given a shopping list.

It can be quite odd what goes through the minds of people who are marketers or advertisers. I remember a few seasons back the celebs had to create a YouTube video for Tide detergent. The Tide people didn't want the word "mom" used, instead "women with children." I thought this incredibly odd, just what demographic would object to, or be annoyed by, the word "mom"? I guess common sense prevailed, as in the end, "mom" was used.

They were trying to throw the women a bone. The men have outdone them in every task.

reply

When we saw the women's it came off as an unfocused mess where the men appeared to know exactly what they were doing. Maybe the editing didn't represent the women's team well.

reply

I'm sorry the men's project was a hot mess, and I agree there was nothing stringing the pieces together.

I thought it was strange they didn't make anything of Lisa interrupting Porshia's chat to Brooke. There was a few things wrong with the woman's segment.

Even if the men's one didn't string together (and I thought that was an arguable "fact") overall they hit the mark just as much as the women as far as I'm concerned.

It was very tight. Either way, I think it suited the producers for the women to win and Derek (or was his name Eric?) to go.

reply

An entertaining show didn't necessarily mean that they passed the brief.

reply

Agreed.
