OK I get he was hypnotized and $hit but why did he go back to the lady and get hypnotized again?? Why didn't he go to her to make him and his daughter completely forget what happened and make them forget each other? I was feeling sympathy for the guy up until the end. Now he's just a disgusting pervert who wants to bang his daughter for the rest of his life. That's just nasty. I feel bad for her cause now they are going to have inbred babies all because of her nasty perverted dad. Poor girl.
Maybe because his daughter disn't get hypnotized again. And she never opened the box to reveal that she was his daughter. Plus thewhole movie was *beep* up to begin with so might as well end f$&@ed up as well.
He went back to the hypnotist so that he could be made to forget, so he could live with himself. I don't think it was to be "a disgusting pervert" so he could continue to "bang his daughter for the rest of his life." First of all he was entirely disgusted by the idea of incest, if you recall when he was standing there in the high rise apartment he berated his former captor for his disgusting acts of incest with his sister, saying "you couldn't bear to bring a son into the world who was also your nephew." If he was a "pervert" then the idea of incest wouldn't have nauseated him to begin with. Once he finds out the girl he's in love with is his daughter, he is so horrified by the idea that he doesn't want his daughter to know because he doesn't want her to have to go through the same mental anguish as well. It's not so he can keep banging her.
He returns to the hypnotist in order to forget what he knows. If the hypnotism is successful, he will forget that he's her father. If he does continue to have sex with her then he's not a "disgusting pervert banging his daughter," he will just be continuing to have a relationship with someone he loves, if he remembers that he was having a relationship with her at all. We can't know what happens because the movie ends there. If he's made to forget everything that's happened to him then he's not even going to remember that they had sex or a relationship at all. Will he still be attracted to her? Who knows, as he was brainwashed into falling in love with her the first time, as was she. The movie seems to suggest that the daughter, who still doesn't know she's his daughter, is still attracted to him & will likely want to stay with him even though he's forgotten everything.
If they had shown them together before he went to the hypnotist then there'd have been more insight into how he felt/thought, but I think they deliberately didn't show it so the end made you think. It's very likely that he felt severely conflicting emotions even if he continued to be with her after his captor was dead, and probably couldn't really enjoy having a sexual relationship with her even though he was still in love with her. Since he was brainwashed into falling in love with her to begin with, he probably figured the only way out of the situation was to be brainwashed again & made to forget so he could at least be happy living with her. The alternative was either to tell her she was his daughter, or cease having any kind of relationship with her at all. The damage was already done.
Inbreeding doesn't always result in defect(s). The defects usually only begin showing up after multiple instances of inbreeding that occurs over more than one generation. There are some higher chances of genetic issues being passed on to the children but that's not guaranteed, and the percentages vary depending on what kind of genetic defects we're talking about.
At the ending, to me, it looked like he was happy at first while hugging her. But then at the very end it looks like he begins to cry in sadness again. I think he may be realizing that it is still his daughter, but it is ambiguous because it may just be tears of joy. He doesn't seem very happy about it, though.
