shareThat's the thing with watching movies like this, I guess. The first time you see it, you get absorbed into the plot and characters but after that, once you know all the twists and turns, it just doesn't have the same effect it did last time. I've only seen Gone Girl once, but I'm pretty sure it won't be nearly as great an experience as it was watching it the first time for me.
shareit depends on the movie for me. The "experience" isn't the same seeing a film on the second or third time since the context is different - a different setting in which the film is seen, the quality of the medium, or as you mentioned, since the plot is already known. However, I've seen "Casablanca", "LA Confidential", "Mulholland Drive" and a few others more than once, and while each experience is different, the films still retain a freshness and a unique flavor after each viewing. I also find I understand more of the film as well as some things that pass me by the first time, i might catch in the subsequent viewings.
