Questionable Details.

I enjoyed this movie, and something to keep my mind occupied on a late night when I was unable to sleep. Had I paid $10 to see it in a theater, I probably would not have liked it as much. I thought the actors did a great job, and I thought Angelina Jolie was absolutely stunning in this.

There were so many details that just didn't make sense after the movie concluded. They didn't really effect the enjoyment of the movie while watching, because you were expecting it to all come together and make sense at some point, but then at the end, you are left with a "WTF?!" feeling

Here are my issues:

1) Early in the movie when Angelina is questioning Ethan Hawk's character, she clearly notices the bruises and scrapes on his knuckles, and the blood under his nails indicating he has been in a fight. This is never questioned, and she seems to immediately dismiss this data after the interview.

2) The mom clearly identifies the drawing as her son and who she saw earlier, yet the drawing looked nothing like Ethan Hawk. It did resemble Keifer Sutherland.

3) The secret room in mom's house: Obviously, mom knows she has a secret corridor in her house. It;s also obvious that this corridor leads to her son's room. Looking back on the movie, that whole scene makes no sense. Why someone would be laying under the mattress makes no sense.

4) Looking back on it, what was the whole purpose of the "meet me in the bathroom" note? Why would he even bother with that.

6) What was his whole motive for calling the cops in the first place?
