The Worst thing about this film is Ethan Hawke

This guy reeked phoney the moment I saw him. The interrogation scene when he first appeared was just like acting 101: So basic and amateurish. Like some high school actor. Jumped higher than a professional basketball player when he saw the evidence dropped out. Jeezus!

And when Kiefer Sutherland's character was choking Ethan, Ethan's eyes closed and eye brows bobbed up and down, faking gasping for air. Come on! Talk about fake fake fake!
That guy is just so lousy!
He over acts in each and every scene.
Look out for the scene when they called off the stake out at the discotheque.
Classic Ethan Hawke. Drama freakin'Queen.

Watch it again and see.
Gena Rowland's presence completely overshadowed him in the elevator scene. Now THAT is a maestro.

Ethan Hawke can be good with a director that knows what to do with him. He was good in training day and Gataca.

In this movie however he was so bad it really makes you wonder why they didn't just reshoot some scenes.

Now I get he was acting as a guy acting as someone else but this serial killer was supposed to be a master, no razón for him to suck that bad at acting.

Master painter maybe, but not actor, unless I missed something.

I thought Hawke did well, switching between the two portrayals of the powerful and confident killer persona and the somewhat flamboyant and jumpy artist.

Ha! Tell me about it.

"There was so much blood man... I... I've never seen so much blood!... His face was HALF OFF!!"

Had me LOL-ing.
