9:42 Seconds in. Gods view shot

From the moment the little girl bit the guys neck to this point, I think that this was one of the best apocalyptic movie openings ever. This overhead tracking shot that begins at 9:42 is a great 20 seconds to cap the opening of the movie but it gets even better right after the "we don't know" news conference with the title sequence turning into the most apocalyptic news montage accompanied by Johnny Cash's "When The Man Comes Around ".
The hairs on your arm will stand up..
Watch the movie from beginning to the end of that song and tell me if you agree.

I remember that they showed the first ten minutes on tv even before the movie was in theaters, I had to see it after that. It's a great opening and still one of my favourite zombie movies.

It was good marketing. I don't think I have ever seen a preview like that with other movies.

Few movies have that strong of a "first x amount of minutes" to use like that XD. So we just get trailers instead. People like to hate on snyder but man, he definitely knows how to make shit exciting, even if his writing isn't that great.

For reals. I've long been, and still am a Snyder fanboy but man, for instance Sucker Punch is definitely NOT a good movie (though I love it).

Looking forward to DC's future with James Gunn.

James Gunn is one of the best directors working today. I love everything he does. Peacemaker was perfection.

YES!...I AM A FAN...I WAS HESITANT ON PEACEMAKERS BUT ENDED UP LOVING IT...ALMOST HATED IT FOR A MINUTE...BUT EAGLEY WAS OKAY...SO I LOVED IT. NOEMOJI

Well yeah, that's a good point.

I'm not a huge Snyder fan, but his Dotd is awesome. I hope Rebel Moon is good. It sounds interesting.

I'm not holding my breath for Rebel Moon, but I am definitely hoping :) Love the casting too.

I didn't think Army of the Dead was that great, but maybe this will be something special. Apparently it was originally a treatment for a Star Wars tie-in too.

I was so excited when I heard that Snyder is making another zombie movie, but it turned out to be so disappointing. I don't think that Army of the Dead was a bad movie it was just so mediocre.

Let's hope Rebel Moon turns out better.

It really is one of the earlier long openings that just grabs you. I didn't know they used it as a spot, but that makes sense.

I hadn't seen it in years and watched it on a new television. Great sequence and a good movie. Comparisons to the original are almost irrelevant.

The beginning of this movie really is incredible. Far better than the rest of the film.
