will their twin movies ever stop?

Yes its great to love your sister, but these girls are a UNIT. They've been acting together and doing movies together since they were babies and they're movies really don't change alot...they take place in some famous city (New York, Paris, London, Rome, Sydney...) and they always end up meeting a couple of guys and of course the legendary motorcycle lift from at least one of them that still didnt disappear in this movie dispite their age differences in this and their preteen films.
Maybe a little space between the dynamic duo would do them some good and some seperate films? I would love to see a twinless olsen on the big screen and evin though i knew nym would be starring both i had hope this one would be different but I was let down completely. I think it's time for them to prove that they have grown up and can act by doing seperate films..maybe different genres as what their used to as well.
anyone agree with this?

Keep going.

I Know I have NEVER seen a movie with just Mary Kate or Just Ashley!!!!Argh!

My name is like ER couse I totally live in the emrgancy room! - Raven

I agree! It's almost like they are glued to each other. I cannot think of Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen, but only as the Olsen twins. So one-dimensional with the same storyline for over a decade.

i don't totally agree with your premise. they are really gr8 in this wonderful and hilarious movie. it depends what roles they're playing. this particular movie boosted their "twin talent" and made them shine..... their characters were super cool and fun too. i dont want the olsen twin movies to cease - its wat they do best. they are unique in that regard. i dont have a problem with mary-kate and ashley olsen. if you do then dont use your time watching their movies. by the way, new york minute is my favorite movie ever!! lol

So when they're like 65 they should make a movie along the lines "Miami Beach Adventure", an amazin' journey in the lives of Mary Kate and Ashley as they cruise around in their wheel chairs through a Miami Beach retirement home lookin' for two "cute" 75-year-old men, all in style!

mary kate is in factory girl by herself.

reply

Yeah, but sometimes it works for the younger audience.
The whole twin thing seems pretty cool.
But another thing I've noticed, how come Mary Kate always plays the tomboy/rebel, who's failing, and Ashley always plays the goody-goody prep?

reply

That kinda matches with their own personalities as they describe themselves. Ashley likes math, MK likes reading, Ashley is more organized, MK isn`t, Ashley likes dressing clean-cut and preppy, MK likes dressing funky and retro. Their characters on the big screen are who they are in real life, which is why I was a bit bothered by NYM. Originally, their roles were switched, but they decided to swap roles because they found that the other twin`s character was more like their own. So MK got the rebel rock star wannabe role, and Ashley got the organized, smarter, cleaner role because it suited them more.

I think it would have been more of a challenge if they had kept their original roles.

The fact they are a unit does limit their movie roles as adults. There isn't a great deal of demand for adult twins in movies, especially when it's obvious (as in the case of these two) that they are not identical.

reply

Yes, it will stop because mary kate is starring in a new movie all by herself called "The Wackness"
