How does he take a shower?

The real question should be how does he get his laundry done, he only has a handful sets of clothes to wear for months on end.

He could wash his clothes in the sinks in the men's room. Just use the hand soap as detergent.

I think his buddies from the maintenance crew probably hooked him up with access to a shower.

Cannot imagine hourly workers having access to showers, NOR salaried employees for that matter

Now they could have rigged one up for him

I have worked in two places that had one or more showers for use by employees. At one of those jobs I was a janitor.

Some first class and business class lounges have showers, not sure if they did back in 2004 but they definitely do now.
