6/10. Here's why:

Christian Bale's performance in THE MACHINIST is very good, but the tonal shifts prevent the atmosphere from being suspenseful from beginning to end. Most of the plot twists are predictable (of course the word was "Killer" and not "Miller;" the "M" dissapeared after TREVOR wrote "Mother"), but I don't think they were all supposed to shock the audience. We're told early on that IVAN isn't real. The biggest surprise is that TREVOR ran over NICHOLAS. It wasn't very unexpected, but at least it's a rare twist ending that makes you look back and say "All those seemingly pointless scenes had a point." For example, the amusement park. He felt so guilty that he wanted NICHOLAS to have the best day of his life.

A very pathetic answer from a very pathetic person......Or, let me ask you something: did something happen when you were born? For example....you didn't have enough oxygen or someone dropped you? That could easily explain your profile

You don't have to be good all the time.....only when it matters
