Just watched it, and was expecting...

I just watched this today and it had my attention the whole length, and it's an even longer film than most others, at that. So, well done.
My only issue, is that I was expecting 1 thing to happen at the end, and that was for Shoshanna to get the better of Hans, by killing him. So I guess I was disappointed in that aspect. I felt the movie was setting this up for this to happen at the end.
After just watching this for the first time today, offhand I just wanted to ask: did Hans know this French girl was Shoshanna? I felt like he did, by some things in the strudel scene, such as ordering milk for her, and another thing or 2 that I can't remember offhand.
