A little Mitty in us all !!!

first off I absolutely love this movie and think it's one of the best of 2013. It really hit with me because for me , and many others we sometimes feel stuck at what we are doing , and dream of being more adventurous , but fail to just do what we really want to do.
The acting is so great , and for Stillers debut directorial movie it was a grand slam. The soundtrack was really great and went awesome with the whole plot of the film. Walter Mitty always makes me feel great and when it is on I always seem to watch it. The film has a great adventure as well as a very sweet romance in it. Kristen Wiig is really great as usual and the shots of the places he travels to are really beautiful . I am never one to say people have to love or hate a film or to see or not see one , but I don't get anybody who hates it or feels it deserves a 1 or 2. If you didn't like it it still does not deserve less than a 5 IMHO. There has to be some part of this film that pulls at your heart strings or makes you feel good inside as well as resonates with some part of you inside.
I always say " We all have a little Mitty in us ". 9/10 for this Gem for me !!

I'm totally a Walter Mitty. So is my Fiancé. We constantly daydream, me especially. Sometimes my fiancé asks me what I'm looking at, but in my head I just daze off and picture all of the things I'd love to do, ideas i have, and imagine myself in places I've never been before. Of course where there's a will there's a way, but unfortunately my wallet would not be able to finance my explorations and ideas.

To me, Walter Mitty finds himself in place/situations he would never have found himself in because of his fears. I actually don't know what held him back for so long, was it fear or not having the right motivation.

For me, is it lack of the "correct" motivation or lack of money? Just my thoughts. Being young enough to still take chances I sure hope by the time I'm in my thirties my fears will dwindle and my motivation will shine through. Movies to me have more real life meaning then most people I talk to who just watch them for entertainment. So, my friend, my fellow Walter Mitty, one day long after IMDb deletes old posts I'll think back and remember this and be happy with my life :)

Cheers!

by the time I'm in my thirties

Well Grasshopper, I can only tell you that I'd like to try my thirties again.

And of course you do have one thing right - money will give you many more chances, and solve many more problems than not having money. I don't think I sound cynical, I personally know people that the decision on whether to buy a new car is about monetarily equal to me buying a blender. Maybe money can't buy happiness, but it can sure push a ton of obstacles out of the way.

You just have to be resigned-
You're crashing by design

OP is right. Most everyone has a little Mitty in them

If you ever have an opportunity to get out of your routine and comfort zone, even for the briefest of moments, and even if it's not at the grand scale that Walter did, do it.

And never stop testing, or challenging yourself.

and for Stillers debut directorial movie it was a grand slam

It wasn't his directorial debut.
