What do people make of the drunk helicopter piloting

That's all cool to show that then? Because it sort of gave the impression it's ok to trust your safety to a drunk person like that - not a good example to kids etc when they might well be getting offered a lift from a drunk on a motorcycle or car - very bad decision to have that in a family film.

Or is the pilot going to be killed by it all? I'm still watching.

Funniest bit EVER of a drunken pilot with Foster Brooks and Dean Martin Hilarious!

OMG people are idiots. If you're mind is that feeble to allow a comedic fantasy movie to make decisions for you than I present Darwin's law. He tackled a guy out of a skyscraper window, maybe my child will do that? He longboarded down a winding road at 60+ MPH with rocks tied to his hands and no helmet, that is the closest bad example that a child would ever come close to. Sheesh

It wasn't responsible for him to jump into the chopper, but Mitty had been responsible for his entire adult life. Being daring and reckless in order to complete a mission, a mission which itself is tied to his job responsibilities, is part of the theme. It's also not responsible to hop onto a plane to photograph a volcanic eruption.

It's human and real to say "Screw it," and jump into a potentially dangerous situation in order to complete a goal. It is what it is.

It's a safe bet that the pilot, a character I liked, would eventually die if he made drunk piloting a habit. Luckily for Walter, he lived through his adventures.

Good point. I like that actor that played the pilot. The scene was totally political incorrect, and somehow that makes it cool? It is very problematic, but it gets the point across, but in a bad way.

#1 It's a Movie
#2 It's a Comedy
#3 There's Something Called Common Sense

If adults or children are unable to differentiate between reality & fiction, and determine correct choices from the context provided by the above list, Darwin's going to weed 'em out anyway.

God, this country's turned into a bunch of idiot women scared of their own shadow, all looking for Big Mother to protect them from their own stoopidity.

No wonder we're being ruled by criminals with a penchant for authoritarianism - as if having your children groped by fat retarded mall cops with a full pension program at the airport while they're looking for the boogieman in your pants is going to keep you safe.

This movie was great - and that's all it was . . . a movie.

Downright scary if you ask me. He was hilarious at first, because he'd been banished there by an ex-girlfriend but the actor's job was SUPERB! UHMAZING. This movie isn't for kids or even those under 29. It's a coming of age movie for people just entering their middle age.

Had nothing to do with trying to be "adventurous". He had to go and if he didn't go he would have failed in his whole pursuit. The point is that from his point of view he really had no choice. Many of us have also faced a similar situation. We need a ride but should we go for a ride with a sketchy individual? I'm sure many the uber rider have experienced a similar dilemma.
