Anyone ever been to those stunning Icelandic landscapes?

The scenery looked so wild, rugged, untouched ... BREATHTAKING!!!

Also, the sense of being almost alone in such a place and away from the hectic city life, the people, the stress, media, etc, make it look like it's a place for one to 'think' and to perhaps find him/herself. I have always been an introvert, never too comfortable around crowds of people, so stunning and quiet landscapes like those would really bring me peace.

I loved the skating scene down those empty roads! I feel like watching it again with some M83 music :)

I find Iceland very bleak. I have no desire to ever go there.

If you can appreciate nature, it's probably one of thee most gorgeous places you can visit.

Machu Picchu, Peru

Rocky Mountains, Canada

Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail, Wales

Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord, Norway

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, Iceland

Lauterbrunnen Valley, Switzerland

Cliffs of Ireland--Actually almost anywhere outside of the city in Ireland is gorgeous.

Mount Bromo, Indonesia

Tasmania, Australia

Halong Bay, Vietnam

Trango Towers, Pakistan

Lake Baikal, Russia

Not everyone is interested in seeing giant sky scrapers, the Eiffel Tower, and the leaning tower of Pisa. I prefer seeing mountains, seas, and trees over man-made items.

Yes - in my top 5 places I have visited. Very expensive (everything, from food and beer to excursions/adventures). I cried at a rainbow (it was so clear I tried to touch it!) and I ate weird food (puffin anyone?). I went whale watching and saw a calf (I cried again) and went snow mobiling on a glacier. Obviously I 'did' the Blue Lagoon, but I also found a man made beach when I took a bus out of the city and went walking - there was a 'hotspot' in the middle of the water and I was the only person there so I waded out in my knickers and sat in the hotspot.

I would go back in a heartbeat, and probably will. You should go - I think you'd like it.
