This will probably become a cult classic

The more I think about this film, the more I realize that it was actually destined to be slammed by the first few critics to review it and dismissed by the general public. Given that we live in a world of YA adaptations and sequels, I think people just weren't ready for something this unique and remarkable. Maybe it needed time. In fact, I think it's already gaining a bit of a cult status. I have called this film a masterpiece in a previous thread, but I'm going to give it about 10 or 15 years to see if I'm right.

I like this movie as much as anybody, but I don't see it as a cult classic. In time I think it will be a little gem that people will suggest to others well done in most ways and a really good time. Really good (and yes-unappreciated in many ways), but no 'cult classic'.

And I hesitate calling something a masterpiece - we have to use that sparingly. If this is a masterpiece, what is Citizen Kane or 2010? Let's not get carried away. And like I said, I think this is very good - which is alot to say nowadays.

I don't agree, but you could be right. I was bored by the film personally

I think it will too, I actually think Tropic Thunder will too.

Ben Stiller is more than people think he is, I think he likes it that way ;)

I would call it a Masterpiece. It doesn't have to be dark and dismal like Citizen Kane to be a masterpiece.

In over this movie. I thought for sure that it would become one of those feel good movies I watch regularly because I enjoyed it so much. But despite liking it so much I have only seen it twice.
