box office flop?
on its opening day it pulled in 2.3 mil
shareWow! I'm surprised it did THAT well! I think Frankie's film career is finished! Mwah hah hah hah! No more fast cars for the little prick!
shareIt did 2,1 millions on friday, with some luck it will perhaps reach 8 millions this weekend. "Secret Window" were the only film that did very well. With 6,8 millions this friday. Even "Spartan" did better than Cody Banks, it had very low marketing, but pulled the higher "Per Screen"-Average than Cody.
shareThey shouldn't have put Cody Banks out on the same day as a Johnny Depp movie. Parents who are Johnny Depp fans are going to go see Johnny's movie first and make their kids wait to see the Cody Banks movie. Cody Banks should have been released last week to give it a fair shot.
Dreams turn into nightmares when you wakeup find out dreams weren't real.

actually it made 8 mil but your right about frankie.

The only reason it's #5 is because the majority of the movies that have come out for the past month haven't been making THAT much money (since most weren't worth spending money on) with a few exceptions. Therefore, bad movies (or movies that pretty much "tank" at the box office) can still make it into the top 5 because there's nothing better to top them. I'll be happy when Hollywood (or whoever) gets out of this little dry period their in and get something half way decient into theaters.
But that's just me...feel free to like whatever movies you want. ;o)

I doubt this is a good movie, but if you want an excuse for the bad box office here's 4 words that might explain it.
passion. of. the. christ.
I think people are too busy spending money on that to watch much else.
In it's second weekend it actually had a very good retention rate. It's estimated to make another 6 million, which is only 2 less than it's opening. All of the other movies had a greater drop in profit. So this is a pretty good sign, even though it's not doing absolutely fantastic. This kind of pattern usually means that the people who went and saw it thought it was good and either recommended it or went and saw it again.
sharejjlove65 knows what he/she is talking about. good stuff.
Yeah the movie has grossed $17.3million from a $26million budget. not bad considering the sequel wasn't really wanted. This monday's numbers will tell if the movie has a good chance of holding again this weekend.
Good stuff for Cody Banks.
ok but with scooby doo 2opening this friday along with 3 other movies it should probabaly fall out of the top 10 and fall over 50 %
shareeven if it flops at the box office, in the long run, it'll be a good film for MGM to have in it's library. in fact, it could always end up as a TV series.

I think Cody Banks will recover the 26 millions in USA. It seems to be a "mini-sleeper" movie. The movie will obtain another 20 o 30 millions in other countries and, after, more millions in the DVD markets and TV.
I think, like Invisoray, Cody Banks could to transform into a TV series. It has a lot of possibilities and MGM usually creates series with his movies and franchises.
(Exucse my bad english, please)
Friday estimates are in and its down 70 % from last friday apprently the opening of scooby doo was more effective
