Where else in England ( other than London ) should filmakers

put their cameras.
I mean, i Like London very much, but it seems there is just London in England for american producers.
Why is that, and where else in England would you see a romance film be taken place for example ?
England has to be more than London, stiff accents, castles and posh people, right ?
So my english friends, what attributes would you put forward to show modern england and where would you set the action for it ?

I thought the 51st state was pretty excellent, and that was based in Liverpool...

it wasn't voted it was picked by the Dept of Media, Culture and Sport. It was a highly political decision.

for what it's worth I like Liverpool but it is a bit of a hole.

Southampton

Yeah! I live in Southampton! It rocks. Just a kind of o/t question. Did they actually film the opening of Titanic in Southampton? It didn't show any of the city so it could of been anywhere!

Another place could be Winchester, its a VERY old city, so could be interesting in a movie.

The Isles of Scilly are quite nice too. That'd be good.

He's doing Olaf impressions! Let's hit him with fruits and various meats.

Use wonderful Nottingham, a city not used much. In fact of all the films made about Robin Hood, I don't think any of them used Nottingham.

Erm excuse me, i live in liverpool im 15, and i love it! So how is it the biggest *beep* hole? Capital of culture? Yeah maybe LIKE 10 years ago we had a reputation for robbing but that is like old. And anwyay you probably live in a little boring country or chav land, so think again before you critisize liverpool because id rather live here than anywere else in the UK, and everyone i no is proud to be a scouser!

I'd like to see Cambridge, and *other* than just the effin school. I know Cambridge has been done, but it's always "Dead Poets Society" type of movies. (Not that DPS takes place in Cambridge, and not that I don't like the movie - because I do, but still.)
Or, Newmarket. Just because I love racing.
