So why does Danz have a photograph?

If Danz is just the bait to get the two assassins to an isolated place where they can kill each other he's never going to have to see them face to face. So why is he given a photograph of them? Come to think of it, why go to all the trouble of this elaborate setup anyway...as both 'firms' kill people professionally, why not just kill them? Or bomb their house? Even mindless shoot-em-ups like this should have some logic to them. By the way, what do you think the department store at the end told their insurance company??

Enjoy the movie? You've got to be kidding. It's a piece of mindless crud.

Sometimes, I think people forget this is not reality. It is entertainment!

I take your point Stephanie, but in drama (including thrillers) there has to be a level of credibility for a film to work. To take an extreme example, let's say you were watching Hamlet and Kenneth Branagh suddenly levitated ten feet into the air and landed again....you couldn't just say 'that's ok, this is not reality, its entertainment'. It wouldn't work, it would destroy the credibility of the experience. Its all to do with the level of reality of the film so something like 'Star Wars', which is JUST entertainment, doesn't have to have any realism at all (and it doesn't), while 'Taxi Driver' for example, needs to have a strong aura of realism. 'Mr And Mrs Smith' needs to fall somewhere in between these two to work as a film and the balance just isn't right.

As John and Jane were both highly trained assasins (it appears that they are the best of their company) , sending other people from the company could result in the firm losing. Sending them to kill eachother means that neither firm would lose people, and there was a very high chance that both would die.
Bombing their house would probably result in an investigation, and John and Jane killing eachother is just easier :)
