Thad must have had a aroom of his own while growing up there. Did he give it up for his niece? Did he share it with Ben? or did Sybill, despite her acceptance, did not wnat want them in her house? Seize this day
If the mom hated her kid for being gay do u think he would be there for Christmas? Maybe with all the people in the house they did not have enough room for everybody. Maybe it was first come first serve for the rooms? Maybe some of the kids still lived at home for some reason and the rooms were already claimed?
When Meredith wakes up in Ben's room it looks like two beds are pushed together. I always assumed Thad and Ben shared a room and instead of either sleeping in a smaller bed or the two pushed together they opted for staying at the inn and Ben stayed in the room.
The beds pushed together seems to be exactly it: they shared a room. Still, the house seems so large that you would think that there would have been enough rooms for all children....Whatever the case, maybe given how Amy treated Patrick for YEARS, the two just felt more comfortable out of the house.
Some people/couples just ma feel more comfortable staying at an inn-I know I've done it-especially if you are an early riser, or late sleeper in a full house of people, it can be akward.
Because Thad and Patrick have really loud, bed-breaking sex! They didn't want to subject the family to the noise.
I agree. Thad couldn't hear how loud he really was because let's be un-PC for a minute and admit the fact that hello, Patrick is probably packing a missile because he is black.
Yea, I said it. Patrick is probably hung like a bull.
Seems kind of silly for me to respond to this a year and a half after it was posted, but I was just watching the deleted scenes, and the question is answered there so I thought I would share.
Sybil is talking to Amy in the kitchen after Meredith moves into Amy's room and says, "We've already got Thad and Patrick staying at the Inn, Susannah and Elizabeth are in her room..." Susannah then offers to let Amy share with her to which Amy replies, "Gross, you're pregnant" and that she'll sleep on the couch. Sybil then tells Amy that if Ben doesn't arrive that night she "can sleep in his and Thad's old room until tomorrow." So, there you have it! Like the others have said, it was a matter of logistics. Ben and Thad shared a room, so my guess is that it just worked out better that way.
Correct. You'd think people could do the math, i.e. a family of seven, a four bedroom house with no bedrooms on the main level and Amy's obvious conversion of the attic into her room.
