"Bitch from Bedford" line?

Was it mentioned that Meredith was from Bedford, NY? I'm not familiar with the town, so was it supposed to mean she was from an affluent, snobby town? Or was Meredith simply stating where she was from? The only Bedford I know is in Massachusetts, but I don't think she would be referring to that location.

I can't remember if it was mentioned before then but there is a Bedford, NY and it's a pretty affluent place to reside. I believe this is where they are referring to.
